In such a big country there is undoubtedly much more to do than could ever be mentioned here, but certain highlights will of course be well known to the visitor. Stonehenge, in the southern part of England is an ancient stone creation which it is believed was built by pagans for worship. On mid summers night thousands of people still come here to worship, welcome the sun or for other spiritual activities.
For natural beauty and serenity, the Peak National Park and the Lake District National Park, both offer people the chance to walk through unspoilt countryside by lakes, mountains and rolling hills. Popular cities to visit include Liverpool, Edinburgh and London. The capital is especially popular amongst foreign tourists who come to see such sights as Buckingham Palace, Big Ben and the London Eye. There are also numerous castles throughout the country left over from the time when Knights and Lords ruled the country; notable castles include Stirling Castle and Cardiff Castle.
